I was trained at Duke University’s Center for Integrative Medicine. My unique professional credentials enable me to provide a truly holistic approach to your coaching needs. As a Doctor of Pharmacy, Licensed Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator and Registered Yoga Teacher, along with my experience in both the health care and corporate environments, I bring to my clients a wisdom that others just can’t.

The Story

I literally spent decades “educating” my patients in nutrition, diabetes prevention and management, and medication therapy. What was missing was the integration of that education with the patient’s own personal vision, values and cultural needs. It turns out that “teaching” people often doesn’t resonate because it just doesn’t penetrate beyond the outer layers of who they are, and what they are made of. Integrative Health Coaching solves that dilemma by getting into the coachee’s mind and spirit. It respects the fact that people often have the right answers of what they need to do for themselves; they just can’t access what it is or how to get it done. They have hit a wall. They need a coach. Through structured coaching sessions, I equip my clients to envision their optimal health/well-being and then achieve that vision by working on the areas within the Wheel of Health (see below) that need to be enhanced in order to reach their goals.

In the center of the wheel is you. Through mindful presence, we discover your unique situation; your strengths, your vision, and the values that drive you toward that vision. Once we have your vision clearly established, you choose where we need to focus your coaching to begin moving towards achieving your vision.

Action Steps

With every step we take together, we celebrate the successes, learn from the obstacles, and plan for what will get you to the next higher step. You fly the plane, while I (your coach) play co-pilot. I am accessible to you by email in between sessions. Every session takes you higher; to a new level of understanding of your world and who you really are as an individual, and closer to living your optimal vision of health and well-being.

Yes, there really is an end

A 3-month minimum commitment is required to begin a coaching relationship with me (with the exception of the Personal Health and Well-Being Muse package in which no contract is required). There is a very good reason for that: it generally takes 3 months of effort to achieve a permanent health behavior change. Trial-and-error occurs throughout the entire coaching relationship, but by the end of 3 months, you will know enough to know truly what is and isn’t right for you. Your vision will crispen over those 3 months. And at the end, you will have gained the skills to continue on your path without me. Should you desire additional coaching in the future, you can move to a month-to-month plan, with discounts offered depending on the length of time you want to engage.
